"We strongly believe in the iPad's potential as a productivity tool, and it's a fantastic endorsement of the product category that OmniGraffle is still on the App Store's top grossing list a month after its release," says Ken Case, founder and CEO of the Omni Group. "People are clearly interested in using the iPad for more than media and entertainment. We are thrilled and grateful, and we hope to keep pleasing our customers as we continue in our iPad development efforts."OmniGraffle is the team's diagram, process chart, page layout, and website wireframe creating app that was once only available for Mac OS X. Since the app requires so much screen real estate to be effective, The Omni Group never really even considered bringing it over to the iPhone and iPod touch. But, of course, the iPad is an entirely different story. The Omni Group was actually so confident in the iPad that only days after its official unveiling, Ken Case, The Omni Group's CEO, declared it was "iPad or Bust" for the company and put the breaks on most of it's Mac OS X software development to develop exclusively for the iPad. Their work has obviously paid off, at least in the short term. For those of you interested in being more productive on your iPads, OmniGraffle for iPad is currently available in the App Store for $49.99, which is half the price of the Mac OS X version. The iPad version is also compatible with the Mac OS X version, as it's able to send and receive documents through email or via iTunes PDF export, so you can always keep your files in tune no matter where you are. Have any of you given OmniGraffle for iPad a try yet? If so, let us know what your experience has been like so far.
