Sam Fisher Makes His Way Into The App Store In Splinter Cell Conviction

May 27, 2010

If you have been itching to play as Sam Fisher on your iPhone or iPod touch, you now finally have the chance.  Gameloft has just released the highly anticipated Splinter Cell Conviction into the App Store. Splinter Cell Conviction includes 11 levels set in eight different environments that are said to offer about five hours of total gameplay.  You will be tasked with controlling Sam Fisher in a third-person perspective using on-screen joystick and buttons, much like the rest of Gameloft’s shooter titles, as he attempts to retrieve his daughter. This latest offering in the long running series is more of a run and gun shooter than any of the previous titles, but it does feature the tried and true cover system along with some hand-to-hand combat.  There is also the new "Mark & Execute" feature that allows you to mark multiple targets and take them all done at once, and tons of different weapons to use. Splinter Cell Conviction for iPhone was shaped and molded after the console version of the game by the same name, so there is very little new here if you already took the journey on a different platform.  Although, it does feature an iPhone-specific on-rails level. Splinter Cell Conviction is now available in the App Store for $9.99.
