Ever since Apple authorized VoIP calls over 3G back in January, there’s been a lot of rumbling around when will Skype flip the switch on its own app. Well, it's finally here folks. Skype has just released the 2.0 version of the iPhone skype app which allows you to place calls over 3G networks. But hold on, there is a catch.
Indeed, while Skype to Skype calls over 3G will be free until the end of August, Skype has announced that they will then charge you a fee for the feature. It's a huge surprise as Skype to Skype calls have always been free of charge and well, the feature doesn't really cost them extra. Also, it's not really standard practice and while we don't know how this will be priced for now, it's a huge bummer.
