TowerMadness HD For iPad Coming Soon - Screenshots And Video Included

May 19, 2010

Almost one full year ago, Limbic Software burst onto the iPhone gaming scene with a unique and fully 3D tower defense game titled TowerMadness. To this day the game remains a fan favorite thanks to the developer's willingness to tweak the gameplay to near perfection and add new features on a consistent basis. Now that the team has pretty much nailed this whole tower defense thing on the iPhone, they have decided it was about time to bring their hit game over to the iPad with all new high definition 3D graphics and even more new features. TowerMadness HD will feature new high definition 3D graphics that will allow you to zoom in on the action in order to better defend your sheep from the invading aliens. But the developers didn't just stop at updating the graphics, they have also added eight new maps to the already long list of maps included in the iPhone version, a new campaign progression system, and the most intriguing addition, local multiplayer. Local multiplayer will allow you to go head-to-head against a friend on the same device by splitting the screen in two. Each player will be allowed to set up their own defenses and ward off the aliens however they wish, but both will be fighting the same waves of aliens. This means that you can choose to unleash a wave of aliens early to get the jump on your opponent at the risk of not being prepared for them yourself. Multiplayer mode will also include two new multiplayer-specific features. One being the ability to speed up your opponent's aliens by spending your heard earned cash in hopes they will overrun your opponent, and the other is RoboSteal, a sheep stealing alien robot that you can unleash on your opponent to get a small advantage. Check out the new mode and features in action in the video embedded directly below:

TowerMadness HD for iPad will also include all of the same towers, enemies, modes, and maps as the iPhone version, so if you have played it before, you should feel right at home with the iPad version when it is finally available. Speaking of availability, the Limbic Software hopes to have the title in the App Store by the end of this month, so keep your eyes peeled.
