Apple Ditches The 10% Restocking Fee On iPhone 4 Returns

July 3, 2010

Good news for those of you who are planing to return your black iPhone 4 to get a white one (as no sane person would otherwise return an iPhone). Apple is apparently dumping the 10% restocking fee on all iPhone returns.

In the past we had contacted Apple about returning our black version to get a white one and we were told a full refund would be issued. Yet, it still seemed to be sort of a gray area. Now, with the debacle surrounding the new iPhone's antenna issue and the recent lawsuits, Apple has apparently decided to standardize the policy. The difference isn't very significant as the return on a 16GB or 32GB would cost just $19.90 or $29.90 respectively. On the other hand, it might help with the lawsuits.

Anyway, would any of you seriously consider returning an iPhone? Sacrilege!
