Apple Says iOS 2 Apps No More

July 1, 2010

Apple has just taken yet another step towards discontinuing support for its legacy systems. Recently, Apple decided not to provide an iOS 4 upgrade for the iPhone 2G. Now Apple is also discontinuing support for the iPhone 2G, and has sent a note to developers stating it won't allow apps that target iOS 2.0 anymore. In short, it means all apps released from now on must be able to run on iOS 4. This should get the handful of iOS laggards to finally make the jump.
