Graffiti Ball Makes Defacing Property Fun And Productive

July 8, 2010

Backflip Studios is really, really good at doing two things: creating addictive casual games and making them available to everyone.  The indie developer has released a ton of great free, ad-supported games over the last year, including the recently released Strike Knight, and now they have added another to their list.  Graffiti Ball, a new ad-supported physics-based puzzler, is now available in the App Store. Graffiti Ball requires you to spray paint on a variety of walls in order to build a path for your ball to follow.  The overall goal is to get your ball to the target before time expires, but you can try to grab clocks along the way to increase your time. You are able to plan your route before the ball is released and the timer starts, but once you hit that go button, there is no stopping it.  Painting is done by simply touching and dragging on the screen, and you can undo an unlimited number of lines in case you have made a mistake.  If you need to take a closer look, you can always pinch to zoom. The game features a total of 100 challenging levels across five cities, the ability to challenge friends via email, fast app switching support, and OpenFeint integration. Graffiti Ball is now available for free in the App Store, but it is supported by iAds.  If having ads on every single screen is just too much for you to handle, they can be removed for $.99 via in-app purchase. For those of you that have been paying attention, Backflip Studios has now released four of the five games they had mapped out back in mid-May.  The last one left, Ninjump, will be hitting the App Store for free on Thursday, July 22nd.  But apparently there has been another late addition to the list.  Buganoids, a previously unannounced game, will be hitting the App Store on August 5th, which will round out the company's "Summer of Free" in the App Store.
