Follow The Adventures Of Ooga And The Rest Of The Pygmy Tribe In Pocket God Comics

August 3, 2010

Bolt Creative has just taken the first step in expanding the reach of their insanely popular iPhone God game, Pocket God, by bringing it over to the iPad in comic book form.  Pocket God Comics, which is actually a universal app, is now available in the App Store, and includes the very first issue of this brand new comic book series. Pocket God Comics is a comic book reader shell developed by iVerse Media that contains the first issue of the Pocket God Comics series that was created by Ape Entertainment.  The reason it's merely a shell is because it allows you to purchase future editions of the series via in-app purchase instead of having you populate your springboard with a bunch of different comic book icons. The first issue focuses on a tribe of pygmies who are very bored island dwellers that choose to fill their time by putting each other through painful and deadly pranks, which obviously doesn't have much of an effect on them since they are immortal.  The entire series follows the adventures of Ooga, Klik, and the rest of gang as they experience death by falling objects, sudden lightning strikes, sharks with laser beams, and more comical scenarios based off Pocket God.
Pocket God has been a huge success on the iOS platform and we’re excited to bring the hilarity and fun to a whole new medium,” said Dave Castelnuovo, CEO of Bolt Creative. “We’re certain fans of the game will get a kick out of this new comic series and, vice versa, we can’t wait to show the comic world our universe full of death inducing satire.”
Pocket God Comics is now available in the App Store for $.99, and future issues will be priced at $.99 as well.  The app also contains a feature that allows you to find a comic book store near you, so you can find and pick up a physical copy of the comic if you so please. Bolt Creative has released the most recent update to Pocket God, the game, as well. The update's content is inspired by the comic book, which is why Bolt Creative decided to hold it back until now. It allows you to bring a pygmies to an altar on a mountain top in order to sacrifice them to a large ape. That's not the end of Pocket God mania either.  Don't forget that Bolt Creative is currently working on a brand new Pocket God game for iPad that will feature entirely new content.  You can read about it more over at our preview article.
