LocateMyPhone Offers Exciting Features

Alerting friends and family to your whereabouts has never been easier, thanks to the new LocateMyPhone app from Y Media Labs. The selling point here is a cool feature called Alert Zones, which is made possible thanks to iOS 4's ability to allow background processing on an iPhone. Alert Zones allow you to create Geo-fenced zones that automatically send an email to someone when you reach a certain location.

Imagine the possibilities:

Parents can install the LocateMyPhone app to indicate when their 16 year-old has traveled to a certain location.
A couple can alert their friends when they have arrived at the bus station and are ready to be picked up.
A college student can automatically alert their mother when they arrive back on campus.

The app also helps you find your phone if it gets lost! The uses are limitless. While the app is not yet available in the App Store, its creators have released this brief overview video:
