If you love creating your own ringtones in iTunes, you better read this. MacLife has uncovered something about iTunes 10 that wasn’t highlighted at this week’s special Apple event.

The creation of ringtones is no more. You might recall that beginning in 2007, users had the ability to create ringtones from songs and then use them for a cost of $.99.

As of the iTunes 10 upgrade, that capability is gone.

There has been no immediate word from Apple about this change. In the interim, if you are obsessed with the creation of ringtones, refrain from installing the iTunes 10 update to your Mac or PC.
