Apple TV On An iPhone/iPod Touch, Coming To The iPad As An App?

If you have the desire to run Apple TV software on your iPhone/iPod touch, we've got some information for you. The folks at TUAW, using Apple TV iOS firmware that was downloaded and unpacked, were able to install Apple TV onto an iPod touch.
They even put out a nice YouTube video that shows the end result:
Naturally, doing something like this isn't for everyone. For one thing, I'm not sure what the point of it would be in the first place. You can already download videos to the iPhone. Plus, it's a lot of trouble and could actually ruin your device.
But as a test, it's nice to know that if you wanted to, it could be done. Even TUAW contends that this isn't for the everyday user.
They state:
This is a Bad Thing to do if you plan on using your device for anything but a candidate for restoring your firmware after getting everything to work. Seriously, ... unless you are utterly devoted to the thrill of being among the first to have Apple TV software running on your iPod or iPhone, you will not want to have to go through the steps of a full software restore afterwards. [sic]In other news, according to modmyi.com, an Apple TV app could actually be coming to the iPad very soon. They said:
A close look at the Info.plist property list for Lowtide.app, the iOS app that runs Apple TV, suggest that the app could be headed to the iPad in some form. There a property with two "UIDeviceFamily" entries - one for the Apple TV and one for the iPad - which indicates that the app could run, unmodified, on either device. The hooks aren't there in the mainstream iOS 4.1 or the 4.2 beta, but a future OS release - or some clever hackery - could provide them.If Apple TV arrives as an iPad app, this would be very cool indeed!
