Buyer Beware: Slice It II Doesn't Cut It

If you've played Slice It by Com2Us then you know that it's a fun and unique puzzle game, and it shot up the top paid charts to the top 10 for iPhone and iPad. Well there's a new app called Slice It II which uses the same name style, icon type, and art design to try to deceive you. The game isn't made by Com2Us, and the game isn't like Slice It at all in terms of gameplay.
The game is similar on the surface with the similar art design, but that's about it. The gameplay is more like JezzBall where you cut the environment into smaller and smaller pieces for the balls to bounce around in. This game doesn’t let you split the group of balls so it's just frustrating especially because with one mistake you have to start over.
The slicing mechanic isn't very precise, and the game is as basic as can be feature wise. It feels like a cheap knock off in every way, and it's sad these apps are allowed in the store. It's one thing to use a similar mechanic in your game, and it's quite another to copy it.
The major problem is that the app tries to earn sales from the success of Slice It. It uses the same name, and tries to bill it as a sequel, and even the same icon type. Some users may be inclined to buy this thinking it's a sequel if they weren't wise to who the developer of Slice It is. Buyer beware we have a fake app trying to sell as legitimate, and the game is terrible to boot.
