Confirmed: iOS 4.1 To Hit This Wednesday [Update: Or Not?]

September 4, 2010
Apple has already announced that iOS 4.1, the new version of our favorite mobile operating system, is due to launch next week. Well, for those of you who are either desperate to: try Game Center, bring their iPhone 3G back to life, or just enjoy that awesome HDR Camera feature Joe showed off, there is good news as we now have the precise release date. As announced on Apple UK (screenshot above) and multiple other international Apple sites, Apple is planning to release iOS 4.1 no later than this Wednesday, September, 8. We're not aware of the precise timing, but these usually are released when Cupertino wakes up at around 9am PT, so be on the lookout around that time. As a reminder, you can check out our recap of the main new features here, as well as our demo of the HDR camera feature here. Excited? Update: Apple just changed the update site again, and it's no longer showing September 8th as the launch date. Change of plans or a simple precaution? Guess we'll find out this Wednesday.
