iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Waiting For Release

iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Waiting For Release

September 5, 2010
Good news jailbreakers; whether your new iPhone shipped with iOS 4.0.2, you upgraded by mistake and hadn't saved you SHSH, or you want the new native HDR feature, you apparently don't need to worry as an iOS 4.1 jailbreak is apparently a given at this point. According to iSpazio, @comex, the genius behind the last two jailbreaks, is already in possession of two exploits for iOS 4.1 (and therefore 4.2). The first one, a "userland" jailbreak, takes advantage of a loophole in iOS itself, a bit like the last jailbreakme.com jailbreak. In case this one doesn't work, the second one is actually at the level of your iPhone hardware, in the bootrom. It will be more complicated to implement, and might not come as fast, but it will be much harder for Apple to close. The credit for these exploits go to @p0sixninja and @geohot. We'll keep you posted.
