The WordPress for iPhone/iPad app has just been updated to v2.6. If you've been using the app for your mobile blogging needs and felt that it lacks some of the great features that the online WordPress interface has, well you'll be glad to know that some of these features, primarily video uploading support have now been added to the app.
Obviously, video support is mostly useful if you are using WordPress on your iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4, as only these two can capture videos. So right after recording something interesting, you can immediately fire up WordPress on your iPhone, create a short post and then embed the video. Other new features added to WordPress v2.6 for iPhone/iPad will be useful for your mobile blogging as well. These include: improved handling of local drafts, autosave/post revisions, faster adding of blogs, and slight improvements of the media library management system. Of course, there is also a plethora of bug fixes and performance enhancements. There is still a long way to go before the app can actually match or even come close to the WordPress tool that most of us enjoy, but this update is a good step towards achieving that feat. So, will you be using the WordPress app on your iOS more often now with all these new features and enhancements? How'd you find the app so far?
