DataMan - Monitor & Geotag Your Data Usage ($0.99) by XVision is a simple, but powerful app to keep track of your data usage. These days, having to deal with tiered data plans, and data-hungry apps, it can be useful to keep an eye on our data usage.
You can track usage directly with your carrier, or use the built-in data-usage tracking feature on your iPhone. Yet, both are not very precise and don't give you all the insight you might need.
DataMan gives you all that and more. Once launched, it stays in the background to measure how much data you use, when you use it, as well as where you use it.
It's very straightforward. You configure your daily, weekly and monthly data allowance. Then, you can select whether you want to have your data usage geotagged (which will cost you about 10% more battery consumption), as well as set your usage alert threshold levels. That's it. Once you're all set, you can open Dataman anytime to see how much data you have left, and where you've been using it the most. Also, it will send you a notification whenever you cross your threshold levels, so you don't get in trouble.
It separates Wi-Fi and 3G usage, which is convenient, and it doesn't seem to have any impact on the system's performance, which is great. Also, the interface is clean, and simple to use.
If you need such statistics, there aren't really any downsides to DataMan, and this is the app for you.
