MobileMe Gallery Now Optimized For iPad, Retina Displays, And iOS 4
October 1, 2010
Apple's MobileMe Gallery app has just been optimized in almost every way possible. It now features a clean iPad-optimized UI, Retina display support, and fast app switching support in iOS 4. It also now allows those who don't have a MobileMe account to view their friends' galleries.
MobileMe Gallery's new iPad user interface is very clean and simple. At launch you are presented with the ability to login to your MobileMe account, or you can tap the button below the field to view a friend's gallery without the need to login. If you choose to bypass the login, you can add friends via Contacts or you can add them by name to view their gallery. When viewing a gallery, you can tap and hold on images to copy or save them to your Camera Roll if it has been allowed by the person who uploaded them. The same applies to the iPhone version.
Retina display support allows iPhone 4 and new iPod touch owners to check out images in high resolution; while fast app switching will allow you to jump in and out of the app without losing your place as long as you are running iOS 4.
MobileMe Gallery is available for free in the App Store, as always. Thanks to the ability to view galleries without having to login and full iPad support, I would imagine more of you will be giving this version of MobileMe Gallery a try. Am I right?
