Netflix Gets An Update - Adds Video Out [Update: It Looks Stunning]

October 5, 2010
Good news for those of you who've been enjoying Netflix's streaming service and who don't have a way to access it on their TV, using let's say... An Apple TV. Netflix just released an update to their very successful app, and it's now compatible with your iDevice video out feature. This means that from now on, using Apple's official cable (or even an unofficial one if you're jailbroken) you can plug any iDevice into your TV and enjoy all the content on your larger screen. This is a great feature. Also, it most likely means Netflix will not be blocking AirPlay in the future. It might not be of tremendous use, but it's always nice to have. I'm curious about the output quality, have any of you tried it already? Update: Thanks to Stephen in the comments, we now have a much better idea of how well it performs. According to his shots, it looks like the quality is quite stunning, and perfectly suitable for a large screen TV. Check it out:

[Thanks Stephen!]
