Sprint: iPad Benefits Us Too
October 29, 2010
Sprint, the third largest U.S. mobile carrier doesn’t sell the iPad. But, that doesn’t mean the company isn’t benefiting from Apple’s device.
Dan Hess, the chief executive officer at Sprint recently told Gigaom:
“Most iPads being sold are of the WiFi variety, and as a result the company has seen an uptick in demand for its Overdrive (3g/4g) MiFi wireless-hotspot device, as people use it to connect their iPads to the Internet when on the go.”The Overland, Kansas-based company is pleased the iPad is on the market. With the iPad, we spend a lot of time discussing its features and whether or not it can connect to a Wi-Fi or 3G network. We often forget that companies such as Sprint, who don't sell the device directly, can still benefit from its availability on the market.
