Apple Approves The Official Google Voice App - Now Available For Download

November 16, 2010
While you might have been slightly disappointed by today's earlier events, here is something that will cheer you up. After over a year of waiting (16 months to be precise), Apple has finally approved Google's official Google Voice app for the iPhone and it's now available for download. All in all it's pretty good. It's very simple, clean, and brings some interesting features like true push notifications for your texts as well as pull-to-refresh. On the downside, the new Google Voice app is, unfortunately, lacking the calling part of the service. Your calls will simply be sent over to the iPhone's Phone app and AT&T. We're not asking for VoIP, which should be a standard by now, but why can't Google call my line and then connect me like it normally does? Anyway, it's just perfect for your Google Voice texts. Also, it's completely free so don't hesitate to check it out.
