If you are like most people, you have a lot of remote controls sitting around. Now, Comcast is giving its customers an early Christmas present: a new app, which will allow them to throw away some of those remote controls.
The cable giant recently released its free Xfinity TV app for iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. The app turns your Apple device into your very own universal remote control.
Users can control televisions and DVRs right from the Xfinity TV app. You can also change channels, tune to On Demand programs, and schedule your DVR.
In addition you can:
- Browse TV listings customized to your area
- Browse an On Demand library featuring thousands of titles
- Search TV listings and On Demand titles
- Filter shows and movies by genre, network, HD, free and more
Capabilities like this will certainly make me consider ditching my satellite TV and installing cable.
