Mobile Gallery Still Not Free
November 23, 2010
Apple made its Find My iPhone feature free along with the iOS 4.2 update. However, despite a report to the contrary, the company's MobileMe Gallery feature remains a paid feature of MobileMe.
According to Erictric:
This morning, we reported that Cupertino, California-based Apple Inc. released the “Find My iPhone” application to the the general public for free as part of the new iOS 4.2. Now, we’re learning that Apple has also made its “MobileMe Gallery” available at no additional cost.
It’s unknown at this point how much free storage the free MobileMe Gallery account gets. However, it’s definitely a welcome addition for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch owners who do not wish to pay a MobileMe subscription. This isn't the case. When users visit http://me.com from an iPhone/iPod touch or iPad, they are presented with a message indicating that Mobile Gallery requires a paid subscription to MobileMe. If this changes, we'll let you know. Let us know if you hear news to the contrary as well. Leave your comments below.
