Apple Patents MacBook Pad Concept!

Patently Apple has discovered a new patent granted to Apple that shows a laptop transforming into an iPad.
The concept is something that many thought the new MacBook Air might have been. Perhaps the next big revamp of the MacBook or MacBook Air will be a laptop and a tablet.
Earlier this year Steve Jobs said that touch doesn't work vertically. So it doesn't work on the current generation of MacBooks and iMacs. But, with patents showing convertible laptops and iMacs (earlier this year), Apple may be readying its product lines for full touch screen functionality.
Apple has also been granted a patent for the iPad virtual keyboard, and a scrolling operations API. The final patent awarded is the ability to touch a screen to move a cursor position.
Would you rather have the iPad as a separate device or a unified laptop device? Let us know in the comments below!
