Confirmed: Mac App Store Launching January 6th

December 16, 2010
Big news folks, Apple has finally confirmed the official launch date of the Mac App Store. It will be Thursday, January 6th. The Mac App Store, in case you just woke up from a coma, is like the App Store, but for the Mac. It will be available in about 90 countries, and will be structured very much like the old App Store with a bunch of categories, and both paid and free apps. We're still very much in the dark as to what we'll be seeing on there, nevertheless we're very confident it will be big. Here's what Steve said:
"The App Store revolutionized mobile apps. We hope to do the same for PC apps with the Mac App Store by making finding and buying PC apps easy and fun. We can't wait to get started on January 6."
