PhatPad Is Like Newton MessagePad

When Apple fans talk about the Newton MessagePad, it’s like a car owner discussing the Studebaker Avanti. It was ahead of its time, if not exactly a best seller. Now, one of the capabilities that made the late model Newtons so wonderful for some, has returned in a new app.

PhatPad for the iPad is a brilliant note taking app that includes a handwriting recognition engine that works really well. The app includes:

• Smooth-flowing digital ink technology
• Ability to convert handwritten notes into text
• Documents can be shared between two or more devices on a local Wi-Fi network, or through email

PhatPad documents can also be converted to PDF and sent to Dropbox. It also includes an amazing tutorial which makes learning how to use the app a breeze. Here is a video:
