Curlington HD takes the regular stone-sliding ice sport known as curling to a whole different level by utilizing special stones and intelligent gesture controls. To slide a stone in the game, you are simply required to swipe a single finger, or two or three fingers for more power, towards your target. The idea is to get your stones to stop sliding in the center of the target, and you can do so by employing a variety of tools.
After a stone is released, you can swipe left or right to change the rotation of the stone, which will give it a slight curl. You can also sweep the ice to add just a little more speed to ensure you reach your target, but at the same time it will allow for less curling. Your biggest advantage, however, will be your choice of characters. Each one offers the ability to manipulate a stone in a unique way, like controlling it via tilt or making it stop on a dime. You can also use points obtained during the game to change the playing field by purchasing equipment from the store.
The game features a single-player mode that allows you to take on a computer controlled player, or you can play with up to three other friends on the same device. It also features 3D graphics, a bonus mini-game that takes place inside of a cargo aircraft, and a training mode to help you hone your skills.
