PhatPad Update Adds Voice Notes, TV-Out, And More
January 25, 2011
PhatPad, Stan Miasnikov's powerful note-taking app for iPad, recently received a significant update that added a bunch of new features that will allow you to easily share your ideas with large groups of people, along with a couple of other enhancements.
PhatPad v1.1 features the ability to record and play voice notes during a presentation. The voice notes can be synced with document pages, so instead of narrating a presentation in real-time, you can leave it unattended in front of a group of people.
On that note, the latest version PhatPad allows you to push your presentation out to a VGA monitor or television by using one of Apple's own cables or even a cheaper third-party cable. However, you aren't able to manipulate documents while connected to an external monitor -- you can only present them.
The app also features a new erase gesture that allows you to delete ink, text, and images much more quickly. The developer has improved editing functionality as well, allowing you to change the Z-order of overlapping images and text labels, and supports cut, copy, and paste commands by text labels and images. Highlighting text has been made easier by increasing the maximum pen width.
The latest version of PhatPad for iPad is now available in the App Store for $3.99.
