How To Photograph An Atomic Bomb Is An Interesting Look At History

January 18, 2011
Two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan in 1945, effectively ending World War II. But, before and after those bombs were detonated, the United States and its allies spent a great deal of time perfecting the technology behind them. Between 1945 and 1963, more than 200 atmospheric tests were conducted. Each time, photographs and videos were taken, some which remained secret until recently. Now, a new app for the iPad has been released, it's called How To Photograph An Atomic Bomb. In it, award winning filmmaker Peter Kuran presents a visually rich and compelling documentary about the building of the bomb.

Using high resolution videos and equally impressive photographs, Kuran’s app is a must have for anyone who wants to learn more about the history of the atomic and nuclear bomb program. How To Photograph An Atomic Bomb is available for $9.99 in the App Store.
