Purchased Apps Tab Coming With iOS 4.3?

January 14, 2011
If you love the Mac App Store purchases tab, there's good news. It looks like it's now coming to iOS. We came across this, and a couple of other features today, while playing around with the new iOS 4.3 beta. It seems that with iOS 4.3, Apple is planning to give you more information about what apps you own; a bit like the Mac App Store does. More precisely, while loading the Update tab of the iPad App Store on 4.3, we noticed at times that the buttons' caption happened to display "re-download" for a second before quickly switching back into the usual "update:"

This leads us to believe that these are the first signs of a new iOS App Store feature to come. It would consist of a new tab that displays which apps you already own; just like on the Mac. Furthermore, this could also be a sign that Apple will finally let you know whether you already own an app. When you view an app's description it will let you know that you can redownload it for free. Finally, you'll be happy to know that with iOS 4.3, you can finally tap an app's name or icon in the update tab to check out its full description:

What do you think, would you like to be able to see a list of all the apps you own? Tell us in the comments!
