Tap Forms is extremely customizable. People from all walks of life can use it for their work and personal lives. The developer tells me that doctors use it to keep track of surgeries, emergency medical personnel use it to keep track of access codes to buildings, and stay-at-home moms use it to keep track of their movies, music, and books libraries. The reader who suggested we review this app is a scientist who uses it to catalogue the data on his plant specimens, including full-resolution photos. You could use it to keep track of your favorite wines, or your loyalty cards, or frequent flyer numbers. The possibilities are endless.

Highlights include: • 26 built-in forms ready to use to store your most frequently accessed information • Create your own forms to suit your specific needs or customize the built-in ones. • Dropbox integration makes transferring files to and from Tap Forms exceptionally easy. • Import and Export CSV files for easy integration with desktop apps such as Excel and Numbers • AES 256 bit encryption for securing your most sensitive information • Available in 14 languages (English, French, Chinese, Dutch, Japanese, Italian, German, Polish, Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, Korean, Turkish, and Russian). • Calculate the total, average, maximum or minimum of any number field in your form. Information displays at the bottom of the records list view.

The extremely responsive developer is always working on future updates requested by his users. He is currently working on a Mac version of the app, a calculation field type, and a one-to-many relationship field type. He already has the 2.0.1 update submitted, waiting for review and approval by Apple. It fixes some memory related crashes that people have been experiencing in the iPad version. It also fixes a crash that people using iOS 3.x are experiencing.

In addition to this iPad version, there is also an iPhone/iPod Touch version and a free, “lite” iPhone/iPod Touch version. The lite version has the same functionality, but you are limited to storing 15 records. If you have this app on more than one device, you can use the “beam” feature to quickly sync your data between iDevices. If you have any need for storing data or creating a database, I strongly suggest you check out one of the Tap Forms apps.

Nine lucky winners will get a free copy of the iPad or iPhone/iPod app. To enter, simply comment below and tell me which version you would prefer - I have four promo codes for the iPad version and five for iPhone/iPod Touch. Contest ends January 4 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Good luck!
