Future iOS Devices Could Include "Dot" Lock System Like That On Android Devices

February 28, 2011
Android-based devices have a nice feature called the “dots” lock system. Instead of using a password or four number code to unlock their mobile device, Android users can setup a pattern for the same purpose. Now Apple may bring similar functionality to iOS devices. According to 9 To 5 Mac, Apple already uses a new lock pattern screen internally for use in the employee "Apple Connect" application. Other internal applications are expected to receive this in the future. Naturally a move to use this type of technology on iOS devices wouldn’t be too surprising. Of course, Google probably has a patent on it, so who knows? Still, it’s very cool, and would add another layer of security on the iDevices which would use it.
