T-Mobile Continues Its Assault On AT&T, Verizon
February 28, 2011
Since Verizon began selling the iPhone 4 earlier this month, T-Mobile has used humor, pretty girls, and now cool looking graphics to distinguish itself from the competition, as demonstrated in a new ad on its website.
The fourth-largest wireless provider in the United States isn’t going down without a fight, even though AT&T, and now Verizon, have the top selling iPhone. In its latest ad, T-Mobile focuses on the fact that both the AT&T and Verizon iPhones run on 3G and not on faster 4G networks. But, T-Mobile doesn’t tell the whole story.
While it’s true the current generation iPhone will not run on each company's equivalent "4G" network, other smart phones being offered by AT&T and Verizon do.
Plus, “4G” is a somewhat vague term that means different things to each vendor. Comparing one with the other isn’t a science. Oftentimes, it's more important to have an understanding of, what speeds are being offered in what locations, when deciding on which handset to buy.
Still, T-Mobile keeps trying, and that is worth something.
