Has Apple Infiltrated The Jailbreak Community?

March 29, 2011
Has Apple found a way to penetrate the jailbreaking world thereby being able to shutdown iOS exploits before or soon after they are released? This is the opinion of one influential jailbreaker, according to Italian-based Ispazio.net. According to the hacker behind Spirit and JailbreakMe, Comex, Apple might have infiltrated development teams who work on iOS jailbreaks. The theory is based on the assumption that whenever the dev team is ready to release a possible exploit, Apple very quickly releases a firmware update that makes it useless. For example, Comex was recently working on an exploit that would have worked with iOS 4.3. However, before it was released, Apple released iOS 4.3.1, which included key elements that closed the exploit.

Comex stated on Twitter:
I try not to be paranoid, but it is really hard to explain this as anything but a leak.
Either Apple is getting better at thwarting jailbreaks, or it's closer to the jailbreak community than originally believed. What do you think? Leave your comments below.
