AT&T To Restrict iPhone 4 Hotspot Feature

March 4, 2011
We were all thrilled when AT&T announced that they will allow iPhone 4 users to take advantage of the upcoming iOS 4.3 Wi-Fi hotspot feature (for $20/month). Of course, they had to offer this after Verizon got the feature. Yet, it wouldn't be AT&T if they didn't mess around with it, even just a bit. So it won't come as much of a surprise that, according to some documents unveiled by Engadget, AT&T will actually be restricting Wi-Fi tethering (aka Personal Hotspot) to three devices on the iPhone 4. This is down from five over at Verizon or on other Wi-Fi sharing devices (i.e. MiFi). This probably won't affect many people, but if it's true, it just gives users another reason to rant about AT&T. Feel free to do just that in the comments below!
