The iPad 2: Dead Pixels and Backlight Bleeding Being Reported

March 15, 2011
Reports of some iPad 2 screens showing yellow tinting aren’t surprising or problematic. However, some early iPad 2 buyers are reporting more significant issues with their new iDevice, according to 9 To 5 Mac. One reader from Texas notes:
My wife and I have gone through 4 iPads that, aside from the screen, were perfect. Dead pixels, horrible backlight bleeding, speckles in the glass, very strange glowing dot under the LCD. These are the issues in the 4 we’ve bought (and returned/will return)
While yellow tinting goes away once the glue from the factory dries, dead pixels and blacklight bleeding are not normal and neither will disappear. For those users, Apple should replace the iDevice free of charge. Have any of our readers experienced problems with their iPad 2? Let us know by using the comments below.
