Microsoft: Buy A Windows 7 Tablet Because It Works With A Stylus!
March 22, 2011
In an attempt to differentiate itself from Apple, Microsoft has released an ad promoting Windows 7 on the Asus Eee Slate, while attempting to bash the iPad 2. Will the ad work? Seems unlikely, since the ad seems stuck in the 1990s.
The Asus Eee Slate, which was announced at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, is not yet available for sale. However, that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from promoting its Windows 7 OS on the upcoming tablet.
Unfortunately, Microsoft let out one little detail: the tablet retails for $1099, which is $600 more than the lowest priced iPad 2.
The ad features a graffiti artist opining on the advantages of using a “real computer” without the need for an “app store.”
The guy also loves using a stylus on it. Yes, a stylus. What's next, does it come with Microsoft Bob?
Check out the ad:
The ad has one thing going for it: the soundtrack. But other than that, I just don't feel it.
