When In Madrid, Rent An iPad

April 4, 2011
A new service makes it easier for visitors to Madrid, Spain to rent iPads. For €39 per day ($55), travelers receive an iPad, unlimited 3G Internet access, and nearly 30 tourist and business-related apps. Developed by PadInTheCity, the service looks straightforward and convenient. Customers make iPad rentals using the company’s website, by selecting the dates of your visit to Madrid. You must provide your name, email, and the place where they will give you the iPad. For example, to your hotel, airport, or train station. Each booking requires a full payment, accepted through the Paypal service. Once arriving in Madrid, your iPad is hand delivered to your location. You must sign a rental contract, provide a valid ID, and a credit card used to block €500, in case the iPad is not returned. Once your trip is over, the company picks up the iPad and takes the €500 hold off your account. Each iPad includes a case and charger and apps such as NYTimes for iPad, City Maps 2Go, TuneIn Radio Pro, and more. Depending on your situation, this may be a big deal. After all, 3G charges alone could make bringing your iPad abroad cost prohibitive. What do you think? Leave your comments below.
