New Website Offers Popular Paid Apps For Free
April 26, 2011
A new website, OfferedApp.com, makes it simple for iDevice owners to download paid apps for free. The catch: You’ll need to complete an online offer from an advertiser to do so.
Launched this week, Birmingham, Michigan-based OfferedApp.com connects consumers to advertisers. In doing so, the advertisers learn more about iDevice owners and the user receives a free iPhone/iPod touch app, normally priced between $.99 and $9.99.
According to Greg Schwartz, Co-Founder of Offered App:
“We are giving users the opportunity to download some of the hottest and best-selling paid mobile applications, without having to pay for them. This model has seen great success with popular social gaming and alternative payment platforms. We are now bringing this model to the mobile app space.”Each day, the site features “Today’s Offered App.” To download the app, you are asked to respond to one of four surveys. Once the survey is completed, the app is automatically sent to your email, for easy installation on your iPhone. For example, the first ‘free’ app is the $1.99 8mm Vintage Camera app. To receive the app, you must respond to an offer from Nielsen Mobile, NPD Research, Reward TV, or My Survey. OfferedApp.com is not like those annoying pop-up ads that promise ‘free’ iPads or trips to Las Vegas, but only after filling out countless credit card applications. Here the requirement is limited to survey responses only. As such, the site seems committed to making customers happy so they return to the site each day. According to Aaron Weitzman, Co-Founder of OfferedApp:
“We are focused on providing simple offers and building trust with our customer base. Our business model depends on users coming back to the site multiple times, so our advertisers are carefully selected to ensure the highest quality and best possible experience for users.”Each app, which changes daily, is paid for by the advertiser. OfferedApp.com, while not endorsed by AppAdvice, looks promising. It will be interesting to see how popular it becomes. For more information, visit the OfferedApp.com website. What do you think?
