A Clever Puzzle Game For Bright Sparks!
BULBS! ($1.99) by Matt Woodage is a new puzzle game based around electricity. This isn’t the first time we have seen clever logic taken from everyday things and transformed into excellent games. However this is the first time we’ve seen it done so well. Bulbs! offers players the chance to get a grasp of how electrical currents, conductors, and switches work in real life. Though this is only a game, users are still taught the actual ins and outs of electricity through clever puzzles.
There are fifteen training levels; each describes how different aspects of the game work. Here players will be taught several controls used during the game. They are all relatively simple, tap to rotate switches, slide things on a grid, and double tap to use conductors.
They’re also a few little things they have added to make particular levels more challenging. For instance, in each level the objective is to light up a certain amount of bulbs. However, you’ll occasionally encounter red bulbs. When these red bulbs are accidentally lit, players automatically loose. They’re there to act as an obstacle and a deterrent from your main objective, which does indeed offer a greater challenge.
Bulbs! now offers 85 levels as of there latest 2.0 update. With so many levels and unique challenges even the brightest of players will have their problem-solving skills put to the test.
