Whack Your Way Through The Thickest Lips!
Thick Lips ($0.99) by EddyL is a whack-a-mole style game with an interesting twist. Hostile creatures called “Thick Lips” are emerging out of our world and it’s your job to stop them! Players must touch and destroy all the nemesis advancing out of the holes. However, be warned a select few creatures will stop you short in your tracks.
At first glance, ten levels don’t seem like much, even with an endless game mode option at the very end. Though after progressing through the first couple levels I began to notice not only was each level relatively long, but each one became more challenging.
In addition to that, each level introduces a new enemy to the game. Players will experience ten unique variations of the original “Thick Lips” creatures. They’ll find anything from enemies with spikes, to invisible creatures, and even ones with multiple eyes. Sure enough with so many different characters and a unique way to kill each, even the fastest and brightest of players will feel challenged.
Each level is gauged by two important things your health bar, and your progress bar. Loose all five blocks of health and you loose, though be aware of how many bars of health you finish with. Player’s final score is measured based on how much health they have left. Though at the same time, players can also recover health during gameplay. The progress bar is less complicated, it simply displays how far along you are in that level.
Even though each level is quite lengthy and each offer unique elements to the game, I still found ten levels and an endless mode rather short. This isn’t to say the developer won’t update the app with more levels.
Overall Thick Lips is a great addition to the collection of whack-a-mole styled games. With several unique characters and power-ups anyone is sure to enjoy this one. Don’t let this fast-paced action game slip by; check it out in the App Store.
