Winq ($0.99) by Indevour Ltd is a unique QR reader that has got some great updates in the works. A QR code is like a complicated bar code that can store all kinds of handy information. People simply scan the code into their smart phone and will automatically have all the information at their fingertips. People are commonly using them on business cards, websites and more.

Currently it's a MECARD QR code generator (a QR language that focuses mainly on storing contact information) and is very handy when you want to make a QR code containing you email, website, phone number, Facebook, Twitter, address and more. The developer is working to make the reader a more universal one and it will be updated very soon.

The first thing I noticed about Winq was that it was a lot prettier than most of the QR readers I have tried. I appreciated the tutorial to help me navigate areas I was a little unsure of.

Winq lets you make a "winq" or MECARD QR by adding any or all of the following information: name, email, address, mobile phone, work phone, home phone, fax, organization, job title, web page, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Skype, Google Talk, AIM, MSN, and a note. You don't have to put in all this info - just pick and choose what you want in your code.

The Winq acceptor lets you read winqs from either your camera or your camera roll. The generator currently lets you put in all the information manually, but an update is coming hopefully next week that will allow users to import contacts directly from their address book to make winqs.

One complaint I do have is that currently once a winq is made, the user has to take a screenshot (by holding down the home and on/off button at the same time) to save it to their camera roll and send it from there. The developer is, however, also working on this to make exporting winqs a bit easier.

Overall, this app is a great start and has a lot of potential. It's easier to navigate than many QR readers and the developer is eager for feedback. This is a good sign of great updates to come.
