The FaceTime-Powered Sex Hotline Is No More

June 2, 2011
Apparently FaceTime-powered porn on an iPhone doesn't work, at least as a commercial business. One of the first adult entertainment companies to use Apple’s video application, iP4Play, has called it quits, according to Cult of Mac. According to CEO Travis Falstad, they closed down because of FaceTime’s slow adoption rate. Falstad stated, “Lack of FaceTime adoption and competition from webcams, coupled with higher costs to maintain quality talent,” lead to the service’s demise. First revealed by AppAdvice in August 2010, iP4Play saw the opportunity to merge everyday porn with Apple’s then-new FaceTime service using iPhone 4 handsets. For $4 a minute, iP4Play offered customers a choice of seven ladies for a “truly immersive and personal FaceTime experience that will blow your mind.” What do you think? Leave your comments below.
