Monkey Math School Sunshine ($0.99) by THUP Games is an educational app designed to teach young children basic math skills. Set by the beach, a monkey asks different questions about numbers, shapes, and patterns for children to answer. The app has different games to be played which can earn prizes to be put into the player’s aquarium.

There games are all very simple. Most are related to counting, and understanding number values instead of actual addition and subtraction. Therefore this app is best suited for young children under five, although someone older may have to read instructions to the child.

After several completed activities, the monkey gives you the option of choosing one of three prizes to add to your aquarium.

The app is very well designed. The graphics are very cute and appropriate for kids. There are nine interactive activities that should keep children entertained for long periods of time. Actvities get progressively harder, but at a slow enough rate that kids should be able to keep up.

Overall, Monkey Math School Sunshine is a fun and educational math game for young children. There are plenty of activities to keep young children amused. I think it is a great app for introducing children to number, shape, and pattern concepts. If you have young children, be sure to check it out in the App Store.
