Google Shows Some Tablet Love To Desktop Users Too
August 5, 2011
Google has taken one of the key features of its Gmail web app for the iPad, Preview Pane, and made it available for desktop users too, according to Google’s Official Gmail Blog. Available in Gmail Labs, the new feature lets you preview parts of an email while reading or replying to others.
After enabling Preview Pane from the Labs tab in Gmail Settings, you’ll see the following toggle button in the top right corner of your message list. This allows you to switch between preview and list views.
After playing around with Preview Pane via my Mac for a while, I found it actually enhanced my email experience. In fact, I’m going to continue using it. While anyone can use Preview Pane, Google recommends it works best for those with a larger resolution screen.
