Internal Carrier Memo Indicates October 1 Launch For Next-Gen iPhone

August 3, 2011
A report out of Boy Genius Report today claims that the popular tech blog's received "confirmed" information from Canadian wireless provider Telus that the fifth-generation iPhone is landing in northern North America come October 1. Says BGR,
We have seen seen an internal Telus document that lists October 1st as the launch date, and while the first could just be a place holder, we do not believe that is the case in this instance. The document lists additional launch dates that are not placeholders — several of the listed dates line up with what we’re hearing from other trusted sources.
Of course, since the enigmatic Apple handset has yet to be officially announced or unveiled, these numbers are little better than a shot in the dark. Still, the next iPhone is expected to hit US shelves sometime next month, so this leaked bit of info is likely more right than wrong. And, naturally, it makes good sense that various international carriers would get the all-important heads-up before the population at large. And be sure to rage about the unending iPhone 5 rumors in the comments. Everyone loves that.
