Purchase RIO Movie Via iTunes And Get 15 New Levels Of Angry Birds Rio
August 3, 2011
Beginning today, when you purchase the movie RIO from iTunes, you’ll also receive access to 15 new levels of Angry Birds Rio, the iOS game largely based to the movie.
First released in March, RIO tells the story of Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. Fortunately for him, he is not, which he soon discovers when he meets the high-flying female macaw named Jewel.
First announced in January, Angry Birds Rio was developed by Rovio Mobile in partnership with 20th Century Fox. The game, available for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, was also released in March. As a special bonus, a Angry Birds Rio golden egg was made available on the original Angry Birds game for those viewers that found a secret code during a RIO commercial that ran during Super Bowl XLV.
Angry Birds Rio also stars Blu and Jewel. With its last update, the game includes 90 different levels with 30 more expected very soon. The 15 levels as part of the RIO video promo are different than the other ones mentioned. Directions to unlock these levels is included in the Extras section of the video download. It is usual in Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds HD, Angry Birds Rio Free, and Angry Birds Rio HD Free.
Priced at $14.99 in iTunes, RIO will be offered for rental beginning August 9. And we would imagine without the free Angry Birds Rio levels.
