Follow Your Loved Ones With Life360 Family Locator
Life360 Family Locator (Free) by Life360 gives you the tools you need to ensure the safety of your family.
The app’s main premise is that you can locate your family members’ position on a map, though there are other features as well.
On the main screen, which shows a map of your family members, you will also see icons for locations of registered sex offenders, hospitals, fire departments, and police stations. Selecting any of the icons provides further information.
Checking in once you’ve safely arrived at your destination is another useful feature. Select the green check mark at the bottom of the screen to check in. Your other family members will receive a notification that you’ve checked in at your location.
In danger or need help? Select “Notify My Family” and your family will receive a phone call, email, and text message about your status.
You’ll need to create a free account at http://www.life360.com. The app is also available for free on Android devices. If your child doesn’t have a smartphone yet, a GPS tracker is available for purchase on the life360.com website.
Of course, the words “Big Brother” immediately come to mind regarding the implications of this app. As technology becomes more advanced, parenting procedures will need to keep up with it.
