New Leaks Shows Off New iPhone's Guts

September 19, 2011
The next-generation iPhone will include the same A5 chipset found on the iPad 2. This is the opinion one can gather by viewing a new photo leaked by China-based Weibo and presented here. We’ve heard a lot of rumors about the iPhone 5 and what seems like an equal number of photos allegedly showing the still-unannounced handset. Today’s photo entry is of a device of a similar size to an iPhone 4 that shows an “A5” stamp on it. In other words, this isn’t an iPad 2 going down an assembly line, but something smaller. It's also interesting to note that the battery in this shot is very slightly bigger than the iPhone 4 one. The iPhone 5 has long been rumored to include an A5 chipset, as opposed to the iPhone 4’s A4. Assuming this photo is genuine, that is now confirmed. The photo also suggests the iPhone 5 will include a slightly larger capacity battery versus that of the iPhone 4. Meanwhile, Apple Insider has published the following photo, apparently showing a screen for an iPhone 4S. You may recall one of the many iPhone rumors suggests Apple will be release two new models. The first, the iPhone 5, will be an entirely new handset. Meanwhile, an iPhone 4S will be a cheaper version of the existing iPhone 4.

As we begin a new week, one can hope that Apple will soon announce its plans for its iPhone lineup. Thereafter, these rumors can finally come to an end. As a summary, the iPhone 5 is expected to arrive sometime this month or in October. We'll keep you updated.
