Curling Just Became More Interesting In Pig Curling
Pig Curling ($0.99) by CEMG is exactly what it sounds like.
Curling is one of those sports that at first seem laughable, but then you catch yourself watching it during the Olympics. Imagine how much more of a spectacle it would be with pigs instead of stones. The goal is simple enough: slide your pigs across the floor and line them up on the target.
A pig is on the floor, with a line that marks where you’ll launch it from. Touch the pig and just slide it toward the target at the other end of the floor. Of course you’ll hear a squeal as you let it slide.
If the previous pig happens to miss the target, you can always knock another pig into it. The levels require a different number of pigs to be within the target in order to pass.
Each pig has a different ability: regular pigs have medium speed and impact, fat pigs have low speed and high impact, and baby pigs have high speed with low impact. You’ll need to keep these characteristics in mind when you launch each different type. The line on the far right will show you which pig is coming up next.
Obstacles are strewn across the floor, which can be used to your advantage. For example, a piece of wood or steel will make passing through them difficult, though they provide a good rebound. Holes in the floor aren’t good for anything, though.
The four main areas include 10 levels each. The last three levels have wood, steel, and marble floors, which provide different amounts of friction. You can unlock special-powered pigs by clearing levels. Will you earn the pee pig, boost pig, or three little pigs?
Technically, this app is more akin to shuffleboard than curling. Adding the actual strategy of curling with brooms, such as Cool Curlings, would be a welcome addition. But this app is still fun and worth a try.
