Skyfire Web Browser Adds New Video Feature

September 13, 2011
One of the top-selling browser apps for the iPad has received a noteworthy update. The Skyfire Web Browser for iPad now includes an enhanced video feature that makes finding videos easier than ever. First released last December, Skyfire is significant in that it allows Adobe Flash videos on Apple’s tablet. Until today, however, users first needed to click on the “Videos” icon to find whatever videos were available on the page they were viewing. Now, Skyfire automatically discovers the videos as the page is loading. Then, if a video is available, the app will deliver a video pop-up for OneTouch play. While most websites are moving away from Flash, it is nice to know that there is a way to view this type of content on the iPad. Today’s update makes that process a lot easier. The Skyfire Web Browser for iPad is available for $4.99 in the App Store.
